Commonly known as the Wat Preah Keo, the extravagant Silver Pagoda can be found on the south side of the Royal Palace complex in Phnompenh. The pagoda gets its name since its floor is covered with five tons of silver.
The main building of Wat Preah Keo houses many national treasures of Cambodia; most are gold and jeweled Buddha statues. Most notable is a small 17th century baccarat crystal Buddha (the "Emerald Buddha") sitting on top of a gilded lotus blossom. Photo taking is not allowed inside, however.
